The Call That Started It All
It started with a phone call from our COO on a Tuesday morning in late January. “The kitchen’s down. Our undercounter ice maker just stopped. Can you figure out who to call?”
I manage the office supply and equipment contracts for a mid-sized healthcare office—about 50 people in one location. That includes the break room appliances. When I took over purchasing in 2020, I never expected an ice machine to become one of my bigger headaches.
